Psychiatry Services

Current research suggests that certain medications can relieve symptoms often associated with these conditions, allowing for more successful recovery from eating disorders. I can recommend and prescribe appropriate medications. In addition, I provide psychiatry services for anxiety and depression, when appropriate.

Assessment: Evaluation of an individual’s symptoms, medical history, and any current medications.

Incorporating Supplements: Consideration of the potential benefits and interactions of various dietary supplements (like omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, melatonin, l-methylfolate, NAC, probiotics, etc.) that may support mental health and/or eating disorder recovery. In some cases, supplements will be tried before utilizing medication or in addition to medication.

Prescription: Based on the assessment, medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, or mood stabilizers may be prescribed.
Please note that I do not prescribe benzodiazepines, opiates, or other controlled substances.

Monitoring: Regular follow-ups are scheduled to assess the effectiveness of the medication, monitor side effects, and make any necessary adjustments.

Education and Guidance: Patients are educated about the proper use of supplements, including dosages and potential side effects.
