About

I have lived in both Atlanta, GA and Denver, CO and have experience in a number of healthcare settings. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient child and adolescent psychiatric mental health facilities, adult psychiatric mental health facilities, private practice pediatrics, private practice psychiatry, school nursing, and academia. I am a double-board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner and am licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse in the States of Colorado and Georgia. Given my training in both physical and emotional health, I use a holistic lens when working with each patient, and work closely with other members of a patient’s healthcare team, including pediatricians, internists, nurse practitioners, and dietitians.

As a practitioner, I feel passionate about providing family and person-centered care based on current research and evidence-based practice. I believe thoughts, feelings, and behaviors exist on a spectrum, and that no person’s identity should be a label or diagnosis.

My doctoral dissertation work focuses on eating disorders and access to care in the United States. My clinical focus areas include disordered eating, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. In addition to providing care with Balance Health and Psychiatry, I provide clinical instruction in mental health to students at Emory University. In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, travel, my two rescue dogs, and time with friends and family.
